Summary

This final rule revises the definition of "minor child" as that term appears in 29 CFR 404.1(h) and on the Form LM-30 Labor Organization Officer and Employee Report.

The definition is changed from "under 21 years of age" to "under 18 years of age." This amendment aims to align the definition with the age of majority recognized in the vast majority of United States jurisdictions, thereby reducing the reporting burden on filers while preserving the integrity and purpose of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA)'s disclosure requirements. A technical correction is also made to the Form LM-30 Instructions.
